Mental Health Technician III - On-Call - Everett, WA


Compass Health is looking for an On-Call Mental Health Technician III for our Triage Center in Snohomish County.

The Snohomish County Triage Center (SCTC) in Everett can accommodate 16 individuals recovering from a mental health crisis or who need non-medical sobering support. We receive referrals directly from law enforcement, local hospitals, self-referrals as walk in’s and Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) in an attempt to divert those in behavioral health crisis from local Emergency Departments and Jails. The SCTC also maintains a direct phone (425-349-7289) for referrals from professionals, community members and those wishing to self-refer.

Community members can also call the Crisis Care Line at (800-584-3578) where professional staff are positioned to offer assistance to ensure that the help offered is appropriate for the crisis that someone is experiencing.

Compass Health provides two Crisis Triage facilities - one located at the Bailey Center in Everett and one in Bellingham, WA. Both Triage programs utilize a recovery model to assist those in behavioral health crisis to access services and supports and resume typical levels of functioning. Multi-disciplinary teams of Peer Counselors, Mental Health Technicians, Clinicians, Nurses, and Psychiatric providers work together to address their needs.


What you will be performing

As part of a multi-disciplinary treatment team, the MHT III provides a combination of social, physical, and psychological services to strengthen and enhance the capability of psychiatrically impaired persons and enable these persons to function with greater independence.

What you will be carrying along

  • BA/BS/BSW Degree in a Behavioral Science related field OR AA Degree and 2 years related work experience OR any combination of education and experience totaling at least 4 years and demonstrates sufficient knowledge and skills.
  • Individuals who do not already hold a license or associate license through the Washington State Department of Health must submit Agency Affiliated Counselor application upon hire and be approved by the DOH.
  • Current First Aid & CPR certification and Food Handlers permit, or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
  • Valid Washington State Driver's License required including vehicle and appropriate insurance, if applicable.

What you will be sharing

  • Defined knowledge and experience of counseling, rehabilitation, training and treatment services provided to psychiatrically impaired adults.
  • Ability to formulate an individual treatment plan and apply appropriate rehabilitation and treatment modalities.
  • Ability to relate effectively with patients, agency staff, other community programs, and the general public.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals with complex needs and multi-system involvement.
  • Ability to maintain a positive, solution-focused demeanor when responding to conflicts or problems. Demonstrated organizational skills and the ability to multitask within a fast-paced environment.
