This professional position is responsible for planning, developing, and leading the statewide program of student assessments and other related activities designed to improve the quality of instruction in Missouri school districts and charter LEAs.

What you’ll do:

  • Provide direction and oversight for the Missouri Assessment Program (MAP) development and operational activities, including the establishment and maintenance of multi-year plans and related schedules for revising and administering the various assessments.
  • Ensure compliance with technical quality standards and state and federal requirements for statewide assessments.
  • Compile and prepare documentation required by state and federal programs, including but not limited to the U.S. Department of Education peer review process.
  • Develop and maintain productive relationships with assessment professionals in Missouri school districts and state education agencies.
  • As assigned by Coordinator, Standards, Curriculum and Assessment, serve as proxy on governing, advisory and steering groups.
  • Evaluate proposals and administer contractual agreements for various aspects of the student assessment program.
  • Consult with school district personnel about the appropriate and effective uses of assessment data.
  • Direct the department’s professional-development efforts in assessment.
  • Collaborate and consult with the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) director or coordinator to accomplish common goals.

  • Master’s degree in education or closely related field.
