Mobile Food Pantry Assistant Coordinator Job at Food Bank of Central New York
Food Bank of CNY is partnering with Huger Free America to find a full time VISTA member to act as Mobile Food Pantry Assistant Coordinator. This position is responsible for enhancing and expanding MFP service throughout the region. MFP Assistant Coordinator will manage mobile distributions at sites throughout the region, collaborate with distribution sites and volunteers, assist with product repacking as needed and provide accurate up to date reporting on service information.
Time Commitment:
This is a one-year, full-time position from date of hire. You are expected to be available for the needs of your community and project at all times, including days, nights and weekends. Because AmeriCorps VISTA service requires a full immersion in the project and community, there are restrictions on outside full-time employment, along with some restrictions on political and religious activities. Education
- Associate’s degree
Knowledge/Skills
- Demonstrated ability to use good judgment and work independently
- Willingness and ability to successfully complete food safety certification training
- Excellent organization skills with ability to facilitate collaborative efforts between Food Bank and community organizations
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Physical
- Valid NYS driver’s license and clean driving record
- Ability to lift 60 pounds repeatedly
