Eaton’s Aerospace Division is currently seeking a Modeling & Simulation Engineer to join our team. This position is based at our Jackson, MS facility. HYBRID

The Jackson facility has approximately 500 employees and is a leader in the design, development, manufacture, and delivery of Aerospace hydraulic components, systems, and services to the global aftermarket and OEM markets.

Position Overview:

From commercial fleets to mission-ready military aircraft, Eaton is preparing for the future of air travel with innovative products and services designed to improve aircraft availability with increased efficiency and performance. Within our Aerospace Modeling and Simulation team, you will analyze and optimize Hydraulic / Fuel systems, including pumps and motors, valves, and other components for Aerospace applications with Computer-Aided-Engineering techniques (CAE). This role ensures our designs meet customers’ expectations and any applicable industry standards by collaborating with global engineering teams and performing system and component level analysis and trade studies, often requiring development of new techniques.

In this function you will:

  • Analyze and optimize Hydraulic Systems using 1D dynamic and controls analysis and with established numerical techniques such as finite element analysis (FEA) and or through the development of novel analysis techniques.
  • Prepare presentations and represent Eaton at customer meetings as a technical CAE expert for the system design. Highlight issues and manage customer requirements when necessary.
  • Work closely with design engineers throughout a project to understand design constraints as well as provide feedback pertaining to structural and/or product performance needs.
  • Review project-related documentation and analysis results to ensure its completeness and quality.
  • Contribute to successful project completion by participating in the resolution of issues such as conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of standard material, and difficult coordination issues.
  • Communicate and coordinate projects with offsite team/consultants. Develop analysis work packages to be completed offsite.
  • Utilize and provide technical direction to global engineering resources in North America, China and at EIEC- Pune, India.
  • Document and prepare a formal report for linear and non-linear structural and fatigue analyses on systems, components, and assemblies for aerospace fluid conveyance products.
  • Create test plans to support analysis and monitor testing of product.

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in the aerospace/ hydraulic/vehicle industry OR Master's degree from an accredited institution and a minimum of two (2) years of experience in the aerospace/hydraulic/vehicle industry
  • Working knowledge of Matlab/Simulink and or Amesim
  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now or in the future.
  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Jackson, MI will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree from an accredited institution
  • DFSS Greenbelt certified
  • Experience with Microsoft applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in controls analysis
  • Ability to generate 1D dynamic models of and analyzing hydraulic piston pumps and motors and hydraulic systems
