Position: Mold Maker

Required Qualifications:

• Two-year degree in machine tooling or similar discipline; or equivalent mix of education and experience
• Completion of Mold Making apprenticeship program
• Minimum (10) years’ experience at a journeyman level including exposure to a variety of mold manufacturing and plastic injection molding processes/technologies
• Experience using CAD/CAM software in a mold repair and maintenance or mold manufacturing environment ( Master Cam a plus)

Job Responsibilities: * Build new molds and perform Engineer Changes/Repairs to existing molds

• Troubleshoot complex tight tolerance mold problems and help keep production molds in efficient operating condition
• Communicate mold related issues, providing technical support and tooling alternatives
• Provide constructive feedback and input to engineering regarding mold performance and preventative maintenance issues
• Evaluate new mold performance in production
• Mold preventative maintenance, cleaning, lubrication and polishing

Skills and Abilities: * Ability to use Master Cam a plus

• Creativity and ability to conceptualize
• Strong tool build and design knowledge
• Strong problem solving/troubleshooting skills
• Able to precision grind to within .0001
• Strong working knowledge of plastic injection molds
• Demonstrable mechanical aptitude
• Excellent mechanical ability
• Team Player
• Set up and operate tool room equipment, manual and/or CNC mill, grinders etc.
• Sinker and Wire EDM a plus but not mandatory
• Take direction from Tooling Manager and work independently
• Ability to problem solve and be proactive
