The Montana Public Health Corps (MPH) is a state AmeriCorps program focused on collaborating with local residents to make their communities stronger. These communities are built on a common belief that we succeed together. MPH Corps members are advocates in our communities as they assist organizations and community members in addressing the modern-day challenges of rural life such as limited access to mental and behavioral health services. Eastern Montana is an amazing place to explore, and we strongly encourage a healthy work/life balance. Members are given time to tour the beautiful states of Montana, North Dakota, and South Dakota and our many parks, such as Teddy Roosevelt, Mt. Rushmore, Yellowstone, and Glacier National Parks. Member Duties : Montana Public Health Corps seeks AmeriCorps members to serve with the Dawson County Health Department located in Glendive to assist local stakeholders in the community building process. Members will work as a team to contribute to implementing the Community Health Improvement Plan. Further community meetings centered on specific focus groups of the initial meeting will establish goals and indicators. Members will then develop coalitions with a common goal (vision/mission) around focus areas to develop strategies for the strategic plan. The coalition members collaborate to build a sustainable public health system. Desired Skills: Strong Communication, meeting facilitation, flexibility, conflict resolution, team building, community outreach, networking and self-motivation.
