POSITION PROFILE
As a Co-Op you will report to the Engineering Manager and be supporting the Manufacturing Engineering Team. Miller Knoll Co-op will learn on-the-job experience in ACAD, Plant Layout, Problem Solving, Project Management, and Team Development. This program is over three different sessions. Allowing for increased engineering responsibility as the co-op masters skills. You will work with Operations, Maintenance, Facilities, Tooling, and Quality to create a better working environment for our team members.
Manufacturing & Operations Engineering Co-Op Responsibilities include but not limited to:
  • Support manufacturing engineering team projects.
  • Create written and visual Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Control Plans, Gage Instructions.
  • Develop, revise and document manufacturing processes to meet cost, quality, scrap, labor and safety goals.
  • Develop/refine plant layout in AutoCAD.
  • Collect and analyze process data by coordinating efforts of production and quality for effective problem solving.
  • Provide floor support to troubleshoot process problems.
  • Plan and troubleshoot new line startups.
  • Measure and analyze data on first article inspections and summarize information.
  • Conduct basic problem solving.
Maintenance / Facilities Responsibilities Include But Not Limited To
  • Develop/refine plant layout in AutoCAD.
  • Perform Project Management for site projects and report out to site and corporate leadership.
  • Create written and visual Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).

  • Salary Exempt: Flexible hours during school, 40 hours per week during summer / no classes
  • Assignment length of 10 weeks to 26 weeks
Required Skills

Required Experience
  • Enrolled in College at a Junior/Senior level (Any Engineering Based Degree)
  • AutoCAD experience
  • Ability to lead projects
  • Familiarity with basic problem-solving techniques
  • Ability to compile and analyze data
