Job Summary

The Network Engineer is responsible for maintaining and administering the company's computer networks. This includes maintenance of computer networks, hardware, and other related systems, performing disaster recovery operations, protecting data, and hardware from attacks, and replacing faulty network hardware components when necessary. This position assists the team in implementing new network technologies working on a large range of active projects as well as providing network support for our key stakeholders. This includes diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, managing, and upgrading all network systems within the team’s remit.

Responsibilities

• Uphold network standards
• Work with stakeholders throughout Bedrock to understand their network requirements
• Develop the network architecture to meet business needs, develop test plans, and evaluate new technology
• Resolve network issues
• Follow documented procedures and checklists
• Troubleshoot wireless LAN clients and VPN site-to-site/remote team member access
• Client-focused (internal and external)
• Assist the service desk team with network related issues and outages
• Coordinate network equipment needs with internal customers
• Produce and maintain technical documentation
• Develop and monitor policies for the use of network resources
• Implement and manage disaster recovery and back-up
• Monitor the network to ensure optimal performance
• Regular and routine onsite or remote attendance

Minimum Qualifications

• 2 years of experience designing and implementing network solutions
• Experience working with customers to define solutions, including receiving, interpreting, and understanding user requirements
• Associate degree or better in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience
• CCNA Routing and Switching
• Experience with Cisco network devices, NX-OS, and Cisco IOS

Preferred Qualifications

• Proven network engineering, network operations, and network performance analysis skills
• Hands-on technical troubleshooting capabilities
• Knowledge of computing infrastructures
• An understanding of TCP/IP protocols
• An understanding of switching, routing and firewalls
• An understanding of DHCP, DNS and subnets
• Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving ability
• Strong interpersonal skills to assist non-technical individuals with complex technical issues
