Cabot has an exciting opportunity for a New Business Development Manager to join the global Inkjet Sales & Marketing team in a remote capacity.


The New Business Development Manager is a highly visible role responsible for creating and driving the North America growth agenda and exploring new inkjet application opportunities as well as supporting the existing EMEA strategy.


This unique position offers individuals the opportunity to be on the forefront of Cabot’s high growth business units as well as involved with leading technology for the inkjet and packaging areas. Full lifecycle responsibilities include not only creating a pipeline of growth opportunities with the potential to progress from concepts into product / business but executing on those efforts into new markets and applications too.

This is a US based remote role.
How You Will Make an Impact:
  • Develop Cabot’s RHS network within the corrugated print segment, ensure Cabot’s value proposition and strategy is clearly communicated. Grow the network beyond its current size and ensure new initiatives / contacts grow Cabot’s share and drive IJ penetration deeper and faster.
  • Identify and develop new opportunities within existing strategic markets (eg: commercial print) and adjacent packaging / industrial markets (eg: folding carton)
  • Understand existing segments and works to identify market &/or product needs that could lead to Cabot increasing market share, drive profitability or build defensive walls
  • Early-stage account management / development in target segments
  • Remain acutely aware of competitive landscape and use intelligence to actively communicate risk and opportunity to the wider organization
  • Heavy emphasis on market facing activity. Maintain an in-person market presence
  • Articulate communicator and personable character. Ability to build a network and to harvest in the best interests of Cabot
What You Will Bring to Cabot:
  • 5+ years of commercial experience (i.e. key account management, technical services, product marketing, etc)
  • Experience within Ink Jet or a similar industry/market (i.e. IT, aerospace, defense, chemical, oil/gas etc) is required
  • Bachelor’s degree with technical or science-related discipline is required
  • Experience working with a global team
  • Experience creating a pipeline of growth opportunities with the potential to progress from concepts into product / business
  • Experience identifying new markets and applications
  • Post graduate business / marketing qualifications preferred
  • Strong knowledge of commercial activities
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing. Ability to make presentations. Proven negotiation and presentation skills
  • Ability to visualize and follow through on ideas and concepts. Displays entrepreneurial spirit and willingness to explore new ideas
  • Adept at organizing and connecting seemingly unrelated ideas. Analytical skills and ability to understand interdependencies and cause and effect relationships. Ability to spot trends and themes
  • A proven ability to take ownership of opportunities and drive the wider organization to deliver
  • Clear intellectual ability to understand business strategy, operational capability and Cabot technology and connect this with market developments and opportunities. An ability to join the dots
  • A robust self-starter who can work remotely and on their own for extended periods
