Your Role

Our night shift customer service representatives work Sunday to Thursday from 10:30pm to 7am. Reporting to the warehouse operations manager, you will be in charge of examining records such as bills, computer printouts, bills of lading, and related documents and correspondence. You will also be the contact for our customers. You will inform the customer of unit prices, shipping dates, anticipated delays, and any additional information needed by the customer using mail, email, or telephone.

Your Responsibilities

  • Process orders for material or merchandise received by mail, fax, email or telephone from customer or company employee.
  • Compile, sort and verify the accuracy of data to be entered.
  • Examine records such as bills, computer printouts, bills of lading, and related documents and correspondence and inform the customer of unit prices, shipping dates, anticipated delays, and any additional information needed by the customer using mail, email, or telephone.
  • Enter orders into an automated system and compute a total cost for customers. Record or files copy of orders received.
  • Confer with warehouse or common carrier personnel to expedite or trace missing or delayed shipments.
  • Compile statistics and prepare different reports for management.
  • Investigate overdue and damaged shipments or shortages in shipments for customers or common carriers.
  • Analyze complaints concerning billing or service rendered, referring complaints of service failures to designated departments for investigation, updating customers.
  • Provide backup support for all accounts other than primary.

Your Skills and Experiences

  • Knowledge of Windows-based order entry system.
  • 2+ years’ experience in customer service.
  • Experience with AS400 or any Warehouse Management System (WMS) experience is desired but not necessary.
