Nurse Manager, Emergency Department

This position manages, evaluates and supervises operational functions and activities of assigned area by guiding and supporting staff and serving as liaison with other departments to facilitate quick resolution of issues to ensure excellence in a family centered care environment.

Posting Note: This position will have complete oversight over our Avondale stand-along Emergency Department. Ideal candidate must have a minimum of five years of experience in an ED setting, preferably with the pediatric population, including three years of leadership/supervisory experience. Candidate must hold a Bachelor's in Nursing Degree, an AZ RN license or an RN license from a compact state, and a BLS and PALS certification from American Heart Association.

Required Qualifications

  • Current State of Arizona RN License.
  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
  • PALS certification from the American Heart Association within one year of hire.
  • Bachelor`s in Nursing.
  • Three years of experience in the specialty area or with a pediatric patient population to include leadership and / or supervisory responsibilities.
  • Five or more years of experience in an Emergency Department.
  • Demonstrates critical thinking and problem solving abilities in order to resolve complex clinical, systems and personnel problems and issues which affect the unit and inpatient departments
  • Analytical and statistical skills necessary to develop and monitor unit operating and personnel budgets.
  • Must be able to assume 24-hour accountability for unit coverage.
