The Green Thumb Garden Center is looking for an experienced Nursery and Inventory Manager. The primary responsibilities are to maintain the health, care, and appearance of all plant material within the nursery and on project locations; maintain inventory of plant material and outdoor nursery goods; supervise and direct nursery yard staff; and retail and wholesale customer sales. This position is public facing and requires excellent client and team communication.

Position Duties and Functions:

· Develop and implement a master plan for the yard layout.

· Manage and care for onsite and offsite nursery stock.

· Responsible for daily yard activities and staff management.

· Source plants and materials and accurately order and store.

· Stock, merchandise, and price plants and other nursery goods.

· Meet with clients, vendors, and team members to aid in plant material selections.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

· Ability to read and write. Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· Plant identification preferred.

· Good time management skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task.

· Ability to create positive relationships with staff, clients, and customers.

· Ability to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.

· Basic computer skills.

· Safety first mindset and good safety record.

· Ability to lift 50 pounds frequently.

Education and Experience:

· High School Diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture or related field preferred.

· 2+ years’ experience in garden center or horticulture trade.

· Experience in retail and wholesale sales environment.

· POS experience a plus.

· Experience with tree, shrub, and perennial care.

· Experience with equipment, skid loaders, and mini skid loaders.

Required Licenses and Certifications:

· Valid Driver’s License in good standing.

Pay: $45,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
