VALDEZ SENIOR CENTER

The Valdez Senior Center provides earned vacation leave and Direct Primary Care to employees.

Position: Office Manager

Hours: 08:00am – 04:00pm

Starting Wage: $20/hour

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 21 years of age
  • Must have a high school diploma, GED, or be tested by the employer to assure employee can read written instructions and make appropriate notes
  • Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Demonstrates success working with the public and communicating with the public and supervisor
  • Demonstrates empathy for disabled and/or homebound senior citizens
  • Demonstrates ability to exhibit non-judgmental behavior in all aspects of the job
  • Demonstrates reliability/dependability
  • At least one year experience with general reception and administrative support tasks
  • Demonstrates ability to use required office machinery (phone, fax, word processing)
  • Demonstrates oral, written, and telephone communication skills

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Open/Close facility
  • Check emails
  • Check phone messages and maintain daily phone log; maintain daily information and assistance log
  • Receive and screen telephone calls, faxes and visitors: refer messages to appropriate staff
  • Work cooperatively with all personnel, tenants and congregate meal clients, guests, and public
  • Organize Meals on Wheels delivery schedules
  • Check ride calendar and verify drivers schedule and/or update transportation changes as needed
  • Greet congregate meal clients and accept meal donations
  • Maintain monthly meal counts
  • SAMS Reporting
  • Prepare bank deposits
  • Maintain the monthly recap book
  • Maintain tenant and apartment files
  • Collect Rent and maintain rent statuses
  • Distribute employment applications and other appropriate agency forms to interested persons and maintain file drawer of general agency paperwork
  • Assist Executive Director; schedule & confirm appointments for Director
  • Inventory tracking
  • Bill SOA for PCA services
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
