Qualifications: Experienced in nursing assessment and supervision of personnel in a healthcare environment. Knowledgeable in nursing principles and procedures, as well as the in-home delivery of skilled nursing and personal care services (PCS). Must be able to help develop policies and procedures that guide appropriate in-home care to clients. Proficient in assessing client status and creating appropriate plans of care to meet client needs. Skilled in employee relations and conflict resolution. Proven organizational and multitasking skills. Must possess good oral and written skills. Current Idaho RN license required or temporary Idaho license with ability to obtain permanent licensure within 90 days. Bachelor’s degree in Nursing highly desirable. Must be able to pass a FBI-level fingerprint background check and be current in CPR. Performs other duties as assigned. This is a part time or full-time position.

Functions/Duties:

1. Coordinate management and oversight of nursing and/or personal care services in conjunction with the Scheduling Department, Executive Director, Area Manager/s, and/or the Chief Administrator, throughout designated and/or approved counties.
2. Supervise direct care services provided by AAging Better employees or contracted services and appropriately document PCS/nursing supervisory visits in client charts, per company policy, state statutes and regulations.
3. Supervision of client care includes but is not limited to, the following:
a. Oversight of client care provided by nursing and PCS personnel.
b. Evaluation of nursing/PCS services provided by personnel and
implementation of remedial or initial training to correct deficiencies.
c. Provide input to supervisor, Executive Director or Administrator
for the development and/or revision of client care policies, when needed,
d. Coordinate and monitor personal care and/or nursing services when more than
one licensee/agency is providing care to a client.
e. Evaluate Care Plans during the PCS/nursing supervision visit to assure client
needs are being met and all provisions of the Plan of Care are being followed.
f. Provide instructions and advice to employees when changes in a client’s status
are observed and/or reported by assigned caregivers.
g. Ensure appropriate follow-up and/or documentation is accomplished when
changes in status have been reported and supervisory advice given.
h. Provide supervision and instruction to employees in reference to nurse
delegated procedures for client care.
i. Ensure the appropriate documentation of this employee instruction is
completed and placed in the client’s notebook and the employee’s file.
4. Accomplish intake assessments on new or prospective clients; provide new client information to the Scheduling and QA Departments for staffing and data entry into the system;
5. Ensure all client and personnel records are kept confidential and that employees are aware of such confidentiality.
6. Identify areas of quality improvement and develop or assist in providing in-services, in conjunction with the Executive Director, of general need to all employees to ensure correction of any identified deficiencies observed during nursing supervisory visits or as outlined by AAging Better policy.
7. If assigned, oversee satellite office personnel, as directed by the Executive Director, and ensure these personnel report on a regular basis on any issues, concerns and/or strategies for continued or initial care being provided to skilled nursing or PCS clients in those areas.
8. Provide timely feedback to the Scheduling Department, QA Manager, supervisor, Executive Director and/or the HR Director regarding findings or identified deficiencies discovered during nursing assessment and/or supervisory visits to client homes.
9. Communicate with Medicaid personnel regarding identified changes in client needs.
10. Provide formalized classes to caregivers and delegate duties as needed.
