Hourly Range: $17.14 - $18.73 (Additional compensation available for county threshold languages)

Position Overview:

The Child Care Specialist, under the direction of the Relative Home Assessment Services (RHAS) Program Manager, is primarily responsible for office support duties and as directly responsible for the safety and supervision of the children being cared for during RHAS Family Trainings and events.

Essential Responsibilities:

Office Support Duties:

1. Maintains complete and accurate data entry within established timelines.

2. Provides effective phone coverage utilizing a multi-line phone system efficiently.

3. Maintains an effective filing system.

4. Provides office support utilizing general office equipment.

5. Monitors and maintains office supplies.

Provides support and child care to Relative/Non Relative Resource Family Applicants children during their onsite scheduled trainings.

Develops age appropriate curriculum, activities, arts & crafts, games, etc. to have constant interaction with the children assigned to their care.

Develops and manages a Registration System, Check In/Out of Children, and communicate information regarding children to parents/guardians.

Ensures the health and safety of the children assigned under their care by general tidying after the kids.

Provides training support to the RHAS Program Manager and Supervisors and assists in the preparation of training documents, certificates, supplies, tools, etc. as needed and assigned.

Provides training and leadership to RHAS Specialist in Child Care related topics.

Maintains complete and accurate data entry within established timelines.

Provides effective phone coverage utilizing a multi-line phone system efficiently.

Maintains an effective filing system.

Provides office support utilizing general office equipment.

Monitors and maintains office supplies.

Essential Requirements:

Must have a minimum of a High School Diploma and at least six to twelve months of paid experience in an Early Childhood Education/Child Care Environment -OR- two years of paid experience working with children.

Must possess a valid California driver’s license, personal automobile insurance, and driving record that meets the standards outlined in the Agency's Personnel Policy; Motor Vehicle Operating Standards.

Must be physically and mentally fit to work with potentially violent clients in accordance with the Agency’s Physical Fitness Standards and Examinations policy and must be willing to complete a health screening physical examination that includes a drug screening test and back screen; must have the unrestricted capacity to employ physical restraint techniques in a professionally safe manner.
