You'll invest the majority of your time in four key areas:

  • Under the direction of the facility manager, coordinates a three-shift, year-round frozen repackaging operation, ensuring the repackaging of safe, quality products within established cost standards and service levels.
  • Participates in the facility safety program to direct and implement safety policies and programs to achieve established goals and provide a safe, efficient environment for all employees.
  • Participates in the quality systems program to direct and implement quality system policies and programs to achieve the production of safe, quality products.
  • The operations manager works along with the other department managers to ensure that the daily operation assignments are completed in a manner that is consistent with Nortera’s core and safety values.

Specifically, you will:

  • Direct and supervise all activities of the three-shift frozen repackaging operation through the team leaders including training, motivation, safety compliance, and regulatory compliance to insure the repackaging of safe, quality products within established cost standards and service levels.
  • Direct and supervise the scheduling of the frozen repackaging operation to maintain on-time customer deliveries within established cost standards.
  • Responsible for enforcing all Good Manufacturing Practices, Food Safety, Facility Security, Food Quality, and Facility work rules for those individuals engaged in activities within the maintenance operation.
  • In collaboration with department management members, to provide the necessary direction to insure the production of a consistent quality product that is delivered on time and within budgeted costs.
  • Actively participates and promotes facility safety programs. Supervises shift maintenance associates, ensuring that all facility functions are carried out in a manner which is safe, and complies with all company, state and federal mandates.
  • You will report to the Plant Manager.

You will bring the following to the business:

  • Must be able to write lockout procedures as the equipment is installed or modified.
  • Ability to work and understand technical manuals/jargon associated with all maintenance system(s) operation, adjustment, and repair.
  • Ability to comprehend facility blueprints and schematics.
  • Applied knowledge of tools/instruments/equipment to include Volt, ohm, ammeter, Micrometer, Cutting Torch, Lathe, Calipers, Milling Machine, Drill Press, Grinder, Pipe Threading Equipment, Taps and Dies, Band Saw, Metal Break.
  • Applied Knowledge of Industrial Refrigeration Process.
  • Applied Knowledge of Industrial Electrical services.
  • Computer Literate: Microsoft Office, Facility Inventory System.
  • Excellent organizational, and communication skills.

PROFILE*

  • Minimum 5 years of operation experience in an industrial setting; or an equivalent combination of education and experience along with 5-8 years of progressive supervisory/management
  • An Associate’s degree in food process engineering is preferred; an Associates degree in Food Technology or a related field with additional coursework in Supervision and Management
