San Benito Health Foundation is seeking a skillful Optometrist to join the Community Health Center’s team of providers. This position provides vision care to patients of San Benito Health Foundation; promotes positive patient relations, and participates in quality improvement activities. The optometrist is responsible for providing patients with quality vision care procedures including diagnosis, recommendations and treatment, as well as providing vision education and prevention services to patients and staff. Provides direct vision care, which includes vision tests and analyze results, diagnose sight problems, such as nearsightedness or farsightedness and eye diseases, such as glaucoma. Prescribes eyeglasses, contact lenses, and medications.

Optometrist is a full-time, exempt position that provides patients with quality vision care procedures including diagnosis, recommendations and treatment. As well as, direct vision care, which includes vision tests and analyze results, diagnose sight problems, and eye diseases. Other job duties include prescribing eyeglasses, contact lenses, medications, and vision education and prevention services to patients and staff.

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Degree from an accredited school of Optometry
• Current and valid license to practice optometry issued by the California State Board of Optometry Examiners
• Current BLS Certification
• Spanish/bilingual is strongly preferred
