Position Overview:
RIVA Solutions Inc. is seeking to hire a Database Administrator / Data Engineer to work in support for Department of Health and Human Services. The candidate will work as part of Agile team to support the design, development and maintenance of financial systems.
Responsibilities:
- Design, create and maintain relational databases
- Work with technical development team on SQL, PL/SQL code optimization and performance tuning,
- Identify, retrieve, manipulate, relate and exploit multiple structured and unstructured data sets from various sources, including building or generating new data sets as appropriate
- Perform data migrations from legacy applications
- Work on strategy and implementation of data warehousing solutions
- Perform database administration functions like backups, performance tuning, upgrades
- Perform security and networking related tasks to patching, firewalls
- Ensure database integrity and security
- Design data storage solutions based on cost-benefit analysis
- Work with Managed Hosting Provider on database stability, availability, backups and recovery infrastructure
Requirements:
- Strong Experience working with Oracle and similar RDMBS
- Experience with database administration, performance tuning and management
- Experience designing data storage solutions for complex systems
- Experience working with complex SQL, PL/SQL queries
- Experience working on ETL tools, Data warehousing solutions
- Experience working in an Agile Environment involving multiple scrum teams working on complex software development
- Experience working with Cloud technologies AWS / OCI / Azure
- Experience working with Unix, networking and distributed systems
- Experience with data migrations from legacy systems
- Strong understanding of data storage concepts, data lakes, data marts
- Knowledge of Cloud paradigms - IaaS, PaaS, SaaS
- Knowledge of DevSecOps framework, CI/CD pipeline
Preferred Experience
- Experience working with data visualization tools like Tableu, Microsoft Power BI
- Knowledge of AI/ML
- Knowledge of NoSQL databases like MongoDB
- Understanding of Python, Java programming languages
- Federal civilian client work
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree/higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field
- Oracle Certification - Preferred
