We are now accepting applications for YMCA Camp Santa Maria! Our beautiful YMCA overnight camp is nestled in the Rocky Mountains near Grant, CO. The Administration Assistant coordinates and assist office and customer service operations. Oversees the camp store, mail and email distribution and parent customer service both on the phone, email and in person. They also help the Camp Director camp administration duties as assigned.


Pay Rate: $400-435/week, dependent on previous Camp Santa Maria or other camp experience. Training starts on May 24th.

Essential Functions

  • Camp store sales (Cabin time and SMORG), Camp Store inventory.
  • Answer phones and give excellent customer service to all callers and be able to talk about all aspects of overnight camp. Check and return voice mail.
  • Collate, file and organize all check in and check out paperwork
  • Gather and distribute all mail both camper, staff and business and ensure it is delivered to the correct individual in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate the download and printing of all camper emails and insure the delivery to the proper camper. (Bunk1 and outlook)
  • Oversee camp store operations: organization, inventory, and sales. Ensure that all campers camp store accounts are up to date, and they have access to the funds that their parents made available to them. Ensure that the camp store is open for scheduled cabin visit as well as during SMORG/free time daily.
  • Model relationship-building skills for campers and staff.

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Previous experience working with children.
  • At least 18 years of age
  • CPR, WFA, AED certifications and Child Abuse Prevention training within 30 days of hire date.
  • Previous experience with diverse populations preferred.

Physical Demands

Camp life can be physically and emotionally challenging. You will be asked to function at 8200 ft of elevation, in a variety of summer mountain weather ranging from snow to highs in the 90's with potential strong thunderstorms. On an average day you will walk 3-5 miles.
