Perrigo is now directly hiring for a Packaging Operator III position on 1st shift in our Manual Toothbrush department.

Employee is responsible for consistently performing work at every station in an assigned machine cell at or above production standards, performing visual parts inspection, and checking customer specifications under minimum supervision.


A basic expectation of employee performance is the consistent adherence to company rules and regulations concerning attendance, dress, safety, plant maintenance guidelines, teamwork, Employee Handbook policies, SOP's, GMP’s, Quality standards and respect for others. SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTY EXAMPLES:


  • Employee is responsible for knowing the procedures for working at each work station for an assigned machine cell.
  • Employee must visually inspect parts produced and separate parts for rework or rejection. Visual inspection includes checking the product spec. sheet, WIP documentation, production releases, and any quality issues as indicated by the specification.


  • Assist with duties such as: changing materials, code dates, setting up labels, loading pouches into cartons, loading cartons into shippers, loading product on to pallet etc.
  • Complete duties related to the operation of the team:
    • Sweep and clean around work area in order to maintain a safe and orderly environment
    • Participate in team meetings and work with the team to achieve department goals
    • Recommend suggestions that will improve profitability or the safety of the Company
    • Perform other duties as assigned


Experience Required


  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required
  • Ability to understand and follow written and oral work instructions in English, such as safety, quality, and GMP guidelines
  • Lift from floor to shoulder 20-30 pounds 1-2 times per shift
  • Pull 200-700 pounds using a hand jack
  • Bend over to pick up a roll of material from the floor
  • Perform simple grasping with both hands
  • Stand or walk 90% of shift
  • Twisting (trunk) frequently
  • Bending at waist frequently
  • 6 months of manufacturing job experience
  • Work well with peers in a team environment
  • Ability to lead activities of a single processing unit (Line Lead positions only)
  • Hand-eye coordination
  • Hearing (ordinary conversation)
  • Recognize color
  • Read work orders
  • Inspect, examine, and observe for obvious product defects
  • Count, make simple arithmetic additions and subtractions
  • Work as a member of a team
  • Participate in cost reduction programs
  • Ability to train other workers
  • Ability to read a computer screen
  • Recognize / identify raw materials by item number
