Westmoreland County Community College is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time Painter position for the Youngwood Campus. This position is responsible for painting duties in accordance with established standards and procedures for painter services within the Facilities & Grounds Department.

The pay rate for this position is $12.47/hour, and the schedule is Monday - Friday, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Requirements include:

• High school diploma or GED
• One year of related work experience
• Basic knowledge of industry standards as it relates to common commercial painting practices
• Driver’s license

Job Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Apply coats of paint, varnish, stain, enamel, or lacquer to decorate and protect interior or exterior surfaces, trimmings, and fixtures of buildings and other structures
• Smooth surfaces, using sandpaper, brushes, or steel wool, and remove old paint from surfaces
• Fill nail holes, cracks, and joints with caulk, putty, plaster, or other filler
• Apply joint tape and mud to new drywall, fill nail or screw dimples and prepare joints by sanding and priming for painting
• Select premixed paints, or mix required portions of pigment, oil, and thinning and drying substances to prepare paint that matches specific colors
• Remove fixtures, such as pictures and electric switch covers, from walls prior to painting
• Paint surfaces, using brushes, spray gun, or paint rollers
• Hang, patch, and finish drywall

Successful candidate will be required to obtain/provide the following clearances prior to hire:

• PA Child History clearance
• PA Criminal Record Check clearance
• FBI Federal Criminal History Record
