PAINTERS at IRT Living are responsible for ensuring apartment homes are painted and made ready for move-in, as well as assisting the maintenance team with service requests as needed. They will mix, match, and apply paint to various surfaces, completing touchups, and coordinating large painting jobs.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:

• Interior and exterior painting tasks throughout the apartment community including apartment homes, buildings, curbing, fencing and common areas.
• Prepares surrounding area by taping off and masking areas, covering with cloth or plastic to prevent messes.
• Removes any old paint, sanding, scraping and power washing surfaces to prepare for paint.
• Fills nail holes, cracks, and joints with caulk, putty, plaster, or other filler, using caulking gun and putty knife.
• Paints various surfaces through several methods of painting (rolling, brushing and spraying or the ability to learn to spray).
• Applies touch ups or second coats.
• Ensures all work areas are neat, clean and orderly after painting is complete.
• Dispose of hazardous waste in an appropriate manner.
• Perform other tasks as may be required by the position and/or directed by the immediate supervisor.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role or directly related field.
• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 45 lbs.
• Maintain a professional appearance and be courteous & helpful to residents, prospective residents, co-workers, vendors, etc. and be able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
