The Role

As the Go to Market Content Marketing partner you will build and source (from the a16z content library and our portfolio) content in a wide variety of formats, including blogs, videos, infographics, landing pages, emails, social posts, and more. Additionally, you will focus on persona-based content and research generated from surveys and the GTM network. In this role, you will collaborate closely with our field marketing partner and product marketing team to build and grow multiple persona-based content streams to continually engage with executives both in the network and the portfolio.

The successful candidate will focus on c-level buyer focused content to support workshops, office hours, portfolio to portfolio connections, design partner programs and additional theme/persona focused events. You will have access to the entire a16z content machine to build with and will support both enterprise and portfolio focused content. Working closely with the a16z marketing team, you will also be responsible for planning/executing dynamic, engaging content across all of the audiences we engage with.

  • Build a portfolio and network focused content strategy and resource library for audience generation, team enablement, and field marketing.
  • Build and maintain a persona based content calendar based on industry trends and customer challenges and deliver effective content streams and help the team maintain a low latency network
  • Go deep into the data and performance of the content, you should be comfortable with analyzing 3rd party data, survey, and MAP data to create compelling content as well as measuring content performance metrics and tracking.
  • Deliver as an exceptional storyteller, you will create original content with a a16z point of view to engage many different audiences and help shape a technology narrative.
  • Embody a player/coach mentality, as they both advise the a16z portfolio on content marketing strategy and build out the Go To Market content discipline.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in managing and scaling content marketing functions at hyper-growth companies
  • Mastery of multiple form factors – video, podcast, long-form, short-form, social.
  • Project management: Able to get things done and effectively prioritize many competing demands. Strong project management skills are a must, with experience managing freelancers, and agencies (when needed) to scale quality content in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborative: Able to work effectively cross-functionally and build alignment with key stakeholders on content and content strategyPassion for communication and excellent written, verbal, and video communication skills. Muti-modal storytelling and ability to create serialized content formats are a requirement
  • Strong editorial skills, including copy editing, story shaping, and a passion for brevity
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and collaboration skills
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast paced, startup environments, achievement-based environment
  • Ability to motivate and lead others in the development and execution of content projects
  • Ability to direct and manage external teams and agencies

Nice To Have

  • Experience with Iterable, Figma, Descript and Video editing tools
  • Podcast experience
  • HTML knowledge

The anticipated salary range for this role is between $204,500-$238,500, actual starting pay may vary based on a range of factors which can include experience, skills, and scope.

This role is eligible to participate in the a16z Carry program and various discretionary bonus programs as well as benefit and perquisite plans including health, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, 401K plan, vacation, and sick leave. #LI-Remote
