Full-Time Parts Specialist/Service Assistant
($4000 Sign-On/Retention Bonus)
Facility: Harris Golf Cars – Sugar Grove, IL

Job Summary: Parts Specialist/Service Assistant works with customers to identify and obtain the parts needed. This position must have adequate knowledge and skills about the materials, excellent customer service and communication skills.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Assist all customers (counter and shop) in selecting required parts in a professional and efficient manner.
  • Inform customers of related part requirements and specials to ensure the customer experience superb service .
  • Answer phone calls and emails providing price quotes and other necessary information in a professional manner.
  • Provide high level customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Receive and stock inventory and shop supplies in timely and orderly fashion.
  • Perform necessary transactions in system and complete paperwork as directed.
  • Pull and fill orders from stocking locations.
  • Coordinates drop ship orders as needed.
  • Notify parts manager of out of stock parts or shop materials that need replenishment
  • Pull orders for service bays and make sure all parts are clearly tagged and committed to related service ticket.
  • Follow up on back order parts and communicate to customers, internal and external, regularly.
  • Identify replenishments needed and submit order requests to parts manager regularly.
  • Ensure that all parts are billed on service tickets.
  • Receive payment from customer via counter or phone.
  • Issue credits for returned parts while ensuring the items is adequate for return and the original invoice is referenced.
  • Set up daily service route parts requirement in an orderly fashion.
  • Keep counter and shop work area clean and orderly.
  • Assist Service Manager as needed
  • Maintain professional appearance
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Education Requirements:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination or education and experience.
  • Ability to read and write simple instructions, short correspondence and memos; effectively present information in one-on one and small group situations to customers and other employees
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, percentages, common fractions and decimals.

1. Must be able to lift up to 75lbs regularly
2. Must be able to stand for long periods of time in excess of 6-8 hours
3. Must be able to climb ladders to reach stock material
4. Must be able to read, interpret and communicate effectively using the English language
5. Must be able to read diagrams and measurements from computerized diagram
6. Must be able to utilize ERP system in consistent manner
7. Experience with Microsoft products a plus

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently on assigned duties.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a variety of priorities while meeting deadlines.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $24.00 - $26.00 per hour
