The Patient Relations Representative is a crucial member of the Clinical Operations Team, responding to patient complaints and grievances under the direction of the Manager. This position is also responsible for compiling, reviewing and disseminating monthly and quarterly patient satisfaction data reports for various levels of leadership and payors. Lastly, under the direction of the Manager, the selected candidate will support the Patient Rights committee by compiling grievance reports from internal database, formatting reports, agenda setting, and follow up actions as directed.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Responds to patient complaints and grievances under the direction of the Manager.
  • Ensures timely follow up, documentation and communication to patient, Manager and others as identified.
  • Organizes and provides written and oral communication on Clinical Quality, Patient Safety and Patient Satisfaction projects, including outcomes, successes and opportunities.
  • Conducting audits of outpatient clinics on various aspects of customer service.
  • Assisting Quality and Patient Relations with projects related to improving patient satisfaction.
  • This position will also be the primary point of contact for the Patient Satisfaction Survey, responsible for setting up new users and necessary education/training.
  • The Patient Relations Coordinator will also provide administrative support to the Patient Experience Committee.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum of 1-year customer service work experience in a proactive, service-oriented environment.
  • Previous experience in data collection and analysis
  • Ability to use Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Strong communication skills – both verbal and written.
  • Strong ability to multi-task and handle multiple and competing priorities
Preferred qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications or related field
  • Customer focused experience in healthcare or similar field
  • Previous experience in patient advocacy
  • Previous experience in providing educational and/or training seminars.
