GENERAL SUMMARY

The Patient Services Coordinator will work and coordinate with over 12 pharmaceutical companies to qualify patients for their prescription assistance programs. Coordinates certain aspects of patient services, including answering patient inquiries regarding status of medication deliveries, applications verbally or in writing, disseminating information relating to pharmaceutical companies changes and updates, and maintaining patient records.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Identify community take back and disposable programs and or resources for medications disposal.
  • Verify patient’s income, demographics.
  • Responsible for verifying expirations on medication deliveries.
  • Responsible for keeping a log of medication deliveries, pickups and overstocked medications.
  • Responsible for auditing patients files to ensure compliance of PAP program and pharmaceutical criteria.
  • Receive and route messages and documents as needed.
  • Receive, log, monitor and properly store medication deliveries daily.
  • Build and maintain working relationships with the social work team and providers within CGMHSA while effectively processing patient applications for prescription assistance program.
  • Perform responsibilities within the realm of patient service coordinator as needed, and other duties as assigned to assist in the operation of CGMHSA.
  • Consistently protects patient’s privacy, rights and confidentiality.

CRITICAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical companies and medications commonly used.
  • Knowledge of community related resources, programs and agencies related to medications.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft office to include word, excel, power point.

Position Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma or Technical or a closely related field. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirements.

Preferred: 3-5 years of experience working in pharmaceuticals, the medical field, or a similar experience.
