POSITION Payroll Practitioner III

WHO YOU ARE Under general supervision, you perform a variety of Accounting tasks related to Finance and payroll processing, (e.g.: processing activities, including computing wage and overtime payments, calculating and recording payroll deductions, processing requests for paycheck advances, processing terminations, preparing and filing tax reports, balancing and controlling earnings and deduction totals, calculating and preparing general ledger entries, inspecting automated system output such as registers and standard reports, determining and correcting out-of-balance conditions, gathering payroll data for inclusion in financial statements, and researching and preparing special reports for management, and processing garnishments and levies.

As a member of the Le Creuset Finance & Accounting team, you play an integral role in the company’s success as you are instrumental in ensuring the month-end close and payroll are reported and posted accurately. You work well with all departments, most specifically HR. You are committed to excellence – continually striving to process and present information in more effective and efficient manners. You can seamlessly integrate information from multiple departments, channels and levels to ensure information is posted correctly and details are readily available should question arise. You embody professionalism, and genuinely demonstrate a willingness to contribute.


YOUR DAY-TO-DAY

  • Processing and posting payroll for hourly and salaried employees.
  • Reconcile third party payroll tax submissions to ensure completeness and accuracy in tax and garnishment filings.
  • Assist other departments within the company by creating and maintaining ad hoc payroll reports.
  • Create and post journal entries, reconcile balance sheets accounts, review expenses, and reconcile corporate bank accounts. posting daily retail statements, reconciling credit card receipts, and auditing returns.
  • Track store lease information, prepare monthly rent payments, and assist with accounting related tasks for opening new locations.
  • Be a vital resource during corporate interim and year end audits as well as Le Creuset’s separate annual 401K audit.


WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is required
  • Payroll process experience is plus
  • 2 or more years of experience in an accounting environment a plus
  • Organizational Skills required
  • Knowledge of how to create, post and reconcile journal entries
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word and Outlook) and computer systems preferred. Strong excel skills is required and pivot table knowledge is a plus
  • Effective Time Management
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Critical thinking ability required to include investigating and explain general ledger transactions
  • Ability to lift 30 lbs. and maintain physical files
