Position Summary:

The Payroll Specialist will process the weekly disbursement of multi-state US and Canada payrolls, including garnishments, benefits, and taxes, consistent with federal and state wage and hour laws. In addition, the Payroll Specialist will be responsible for all tasks necessary to accomplish the organization’s payroll processing objectives, including relationships with external vendors, auditors, and state and federal agencies.

Essential Functions:

Payroll Processing

  • Responsible for accurate and timely processing of US and Canada payrolls.
  • US Payrolls are weekly, biweekly and multi-state; Canada payrolls are semi-monthly and multi-location.
  • Analyzes, prepares, and validates payroll data. Leverages payroll system to produce accurate and timely payroll. Ensures compliance with all applicable state and federal wage and hour laws.
  • Execute time and attendance import processing to ensure a successful interface with the payroll system.
  • Review and analyze current payroll and tax procedures in order to recommend and implement changes leading to best-practice operations.

Payment Services

  • Process correct garnishment calculations and ensure compliance through validation of employee set-up and regular validation of TPA data and compliance.
  • Knowledge of applicable state and federal wage and hour laws.
  • Ensure taxes are correctly set-up on employee records and with third-party vendors.

Data Integrity/Reporting

  • Process, both accurate and timely, quarterly and year-end reporting.
  • Leverage Business Intelligence (BI) reporting in order to provide data in response to ad hoc requests, including internal and external audit requests.

System Administration

  • With assistance from the Payroll Manager and HRIS team, responsible for all system updates and changes to system configuration, as required by business need.
  • Facilitate time and attendance training, including updating training guides and ensuring field employees, managers and HR Business Partners are supported to ensure accurate payroll processing.

Position Qualifications:

Professional Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in payroll processing.
  • Strong customer-service mindset. Detail-oriented.
  • Computer Skills: Strong proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables. Proficiency in Word and PowerPoint also required.
  • Advanced proficiency in payroll/HRIS systems, UKG Pro (UltiPro) highly desired but not required.
  • Strong proficiency in time and attendance capabilities, business rules, and reporting.
  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities but works closely with HR, HRIS, and Benefits staff to ensure the department’s objectives are met.

Compensation for roles at AZEK varies depending on a wide range of factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set and level of experience. The annual salary for this role is $55,000 to $78,000. In addition to base salary, we offer generous bonus and incentive opportunities that significantly increase earning potential.
