General Responsibilities: Responsible for performing a variety of duties to assist residents with personal hygiene and tasks of daily living; complying with all operating policies and procedures; reporting pertinent information to the immediate supervisor; and responding to inquiries or requests for information.
Description includes the following:
- Assists with orienting residents and their families to the company upon admission and to the department when transfers occur.
- Assists residents with meals; provides between meal nourishment when indicated
- Reports any changes in the condition of residents to the Personal Care Director and Charge Nurse.
- Assists residents with daily hygiene including bathing, oral hygiene, and hair grooming and shampoo; assists residents with dressing, personal laundry, and care of clothes.
- Assists residents in maintaining a clean and orderly room; changes bed linens.
- Accompanies residents on shopping trips and doctor appointments.
- Provides assistance to residents in care of personal possessions; aides residents in correspondence, including use of the telephone.
- Insures an atmosphere which allows for the privacy, dignity, and well-being of all residents in a safe, secure environment.
- Follows standard precautions.
- Maintains awareness of individual responsibilities under the established Fire Safety/Disaster plan; conducts monthly fire drills and maintains records.
- Insures the confidentiality of all resident- and/or employee-related information.
