Valley Cities and community partners are dedicated to constructively addressing the opioid epidemic. The Match Peer Support Specialist is an essential member of a team of substance use disorder, behavioral health, primary care, and other partnered providers who together will provide access to a continuum of services for persons with opioid use disorders, utilizing a “hub and spoke” model and a harm-reduction philosophy of care. This position will work closely with the Program Manager, Care Navigators and Nurse Care Manager to screen, enroll, and schedule clients for medication assisted treatment, Care Navigation, Case Management, counseling and other needed care and services, based upon individual care needs, geography, and timeliness of access, and will be responsible for managing/ tracking outcomes data.

Essential Job Functions: (This is not the job description in its entirety)

  • Engaging clients and their supports in a professional manner with a trauma informed approach.
  • Assist with screening, program enrollment, scheduling of clinic visits and urinalysis collection.
  • Monitor client progress via client tracking sheets and participate in regular staff meetings.
  • Providing and maintaining boundaries to help clients and their supports in working toward recovery.
  • Provide all services with respect for cultural diversity and in the least intrusive way possible.
  • With manager, establish ongoing professional development goals; acquire new skills and knowledge through training and other means.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED and continuing education in mental health field
  • Current driver’s license and automotive insurance
  • Pass Required Background checks
  • Become Peer Certified within 3 months of hire
  • Good communication skills, teamwork and ability to collaborate with care team members
  • Experience providing telehealth services and using Microsoft Teams

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.50 - $23.53 per hour
