Position Summary

The Phlebotomist is responsible for providing professional and courteous service to all patients, visitors, and employees of our facility. The phlebotomist performs certain clinical tasks that he/she has been approved to perform through an educational or clinical check-off by a qualified member of the staff to include specimen collection and patient education. In addition to this, the phlebotomist is responsible for all clerical duties associated with maintaining a well-organized laboratory.

Minimum Requirements

  • Employee must have a high school diploma, GED or higher
  • Must be able to communicate effectively.
  • Graduate of an accredited phlebotomy program with at least two years of experience preferred and ASCP or equivalent certification eligible.
  • Two years secretarial experience in a medical facility preferred.
  • Computer skills include basic data entry and word processing. Excel, Powerpoint, and Access experience desired.

Other Information

  • Full time, benefit eligible
  • Clinic hours are Monday-Thursday, 8a-5p, Friday 8a-12p
  • Works onsite at the Internal Medicine Clinic in Kinston
