Somerset OB/GYN Associates, an Axia Women’s Health care center with 2 convenient offices located in Bridgewater & Hillsborough, is seeking a Full-Time Physician Assistant (PA-C).

Somerset OB/GYN Associates (SOGA) is a full-service Obstetrics and Gynecology practice offering its patients a wide range of service options with offices located in Bridgewater & Hillsborough. For more than 30 years, SOGA has been committed to providing patients with the very best healthcare advice possible. SOGA offers the traditional Obstetrics and Gynecology services including Prenatal care, Pregnancy and Delivery, Ultrasound, PAP Smears, Contraception, Colposcopy, LEEP Procedures, Treatments for Abnormal uterine bleeding, Pelvic Pain, Premenstrual syndromes, and Sexual dysfunction. *** ACR Gold Standard Accreditation in Ultrasound.

POSITION SUMMARY: The Physician Assistant performs physical examinations, confers with patients in person and by phone/electronically, collaborates with others in the department to ensure a smooth flow of patient care consistent with established quality indicators and participates in the overall coordination of patient care. Other job duties include but are not limited to:

  • Practices under the standard procedure established for the Physician Assistant role consistent with Company policy and in accordance with all legal requirements
  • Experience with IUDs, Pessaries & Colposcopy helpful but not required
  • Conducts age-appropriate assessments of patients, including history taking and physical examination consistent with department protocol.
  • Performs assessment/data collection in an on-going systematic manner, focusing on physiologic, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, and cognitive status, patient/family education, family involvement, and patient advocacy
  • Consults with supervising physician or other clinicians as dictated by patient need and assessment findings.
  • Participates with physicians and other clinicians in the department to assure effective patient care consistent with quality indicators for patients cared for in the designated service.
  • Reviews medical record for follow up or ordering of diagnostic studies under established protocols.
  • Establishes effective working relationships with members of the health care team, patients, and families.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of and applies safety principles as identified by the practice.
  • Performs efficiently in emergency situations following established protocols, remaining calm, informing appropriate persons, and documenting events.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of legal issues, including patient confidentiality and risk management in all aspects of patient care and unit functioning.
  • Demonstrates a service philosophy in all interactions with patients, families, and all members of the health care team.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in the use of computers and telecommunication modalities to document, track and convey information.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Active, unrestricted New Jersey Physician Assistant medical license
  • Minimum 1 year of recent Women's Health experience outside of clinical rotation
  • eClinicalWorks experience helpful but not a requirement
  • Eligible to participate in state programs including but not limited to Medicare and Medicaid

Pay: $95,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
