Pipe Stress Engineer

ResourceTek is assisting our client in East Tennessee who has an opening for a Pipe Stress Engineer with a PE in the state of Tennessee and experience using CAESAR II. This will be a long-term contract assignment and possibly could be a contract to direct hire or a direct hire opportunity. Possibility of working a hybrid schedule for the right candidate.

Summary:

• Performs a variety of engineering work but concentrating on review and stamping of Piping Drawings and Designs, using CAESAR II for Pipe Support analysis.
• Use creativity and objectivity to perform studies and technical activities to arrive at the most cost-effective, reliable technical solution.
• Supports procurement and construction phases or projects with engineering knowledge and experience.

Responsibilities:

• Reviews and interprets piping designs, checking all specifications and stamps the detailed drawings as correct.
• Ensures conformance to applicable engineering codes and standards as well as company policies and procedures.
• Performs detailed technical analysis of complex project issues - Pipe Stress Analysis using CAESAR II a plus
• Monitors applicable regulatory requirements and stays abreast of regulatory trends.
• Arrives at sound and prudent decisions, course of action or a conclusion, especially when only limited facts are available.
• Able to serve as technical manager on projects and small programs.

Qualifications/Competencies/Experience:

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or relevant discipline needed.
• Professional Engineering (PE) required in Tennessee (Ability of obtain in a timely manner).
• 5+ years of experience in Mechanical Engineering related projects. Piping/Plumbing design experience is required. Process piping experience in the chemical industry is a plus.
• Experience in mechanical cost estimation and material take-offs for bidding purposes.
• Experience in vertical design.
• Experience in sustainable design.
• Experience in preparing design documents, including construction drawings, specifications, and calculations.
• Experience in the field on a construction site or experience with factory maintenance.
