Planer Superintendent

Location: Whitehouse, FL

Salary: $75K-$90K

Job Description:

This position will be responsible for all aspects of safety and production of the planer mill, dry kilns, and shipping department. This role will be responsible for managing and developing three salaried direct reports.

What will make you stand out:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher
• Lumber grading certification
• Wood products experience with any of the following: Planning, Sawmilling, Drying

Requirements and Qualifications:

• Ability to communicate well – oral and written
• Proficient in Microsoft suite
• Leadership / Supervisory skills
• Ability to function independently
• Cost management, basic income statements, and balance sheet understanding
• Ability to manage, plan and schedule maintenance activities
• Effective root cause administration to minimize reoccurring issues causing downtime
• Proven ability to grow and develop people
• Minimum 3 to 5 years of leadership of industrial or manufacturing experience.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Achieving production goals with the highest regard and adherence to employee safety
• Managing department costs in an aggressive manner ensuring optimum manufacturing unit costs, development, and education on key metrics
• Maintenance planning, planning non-emergency maintenance, coordinating PM routes
• Effective evaluation and continuous improvement of maintenance
• Experience effectively managing change in a high performing work environment
• Effectively communicating goals to the team
• Managing conflict

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
