Our client is seeking a Planning and Design Engineer I who will be responsible for construction coordination and the planning and designing of broadband communication systems.
Key Accountabilities:
- Works with project team to design systems and determine project specifications.
- Creates construction jobs, ensures proper documentation available to proceed, assesses nearby jobs for synergies, conducts point to point design and reserves wavelengths and is tightly aligned with the network plan group to ensure builds are holistic.
- Assists with project status to ensure progress toward completion and required procedural steps are completed fully and in a timely manner.
- Creates construction jobs from a variety of intake sources.
- Validates documentation and information available to proceed. Where needed, obtains additional information to move the job forward.
- Leverages Plan tools to assess nearby jobs for integration.
- Participates in the design of broadband communication systems using various design software packages.
- Prepares special keys, charts, diagrams, and graphic drawings for use by other departments.
- Updates and maintains system maps, keys, and design files. Tracks and keeps current system spreadsheets and documents.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Field of study including Liberal Arts, Engineering, and/or GIS.
- Generally, requires 2-5 years related experience.
- Telecom and a technical background is helpful.
- Proactive in their willingness to learn.
