Postdoctoral Positions in Translational and Clinical Biophotonics
Laboratory for Optical Micromechanics and Imaging
Wellman Center for Photomedicine, Massachusetts General Hospital
Harvard Medical School
The Laboratory for Optical Micromechanics directed by Dr. Seemantini Nadkarni, is seeking highly motivated PhD scientists to fill open postdoctoral positions in Biophotonics and Translational Optics. Our laboratory is located at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School. The Wellman Center is the world’s largest academic research facility dedicated to the development of light-mediated, diagnostic and therapeutic technologies.
At the Laboratory for Optical Micromechanics our mission is to innovate and develop novel light-based diagnostic technologies to address major clinical and biomedical problems in hematology, atherosclerosis and cancer research. A keen interest and experience in innovating medical devices for bench-to-bedside clinical translation is highly desirable for this position. Successful postdoctoral fellows will lead efforts in bench-to-bedside innovation of optical biosensing and diagnostic devices, develop optical tools for clinical use, collaborate closely with clinician partners to conduct near-patient testing and work with industry partners towards commercialization and translation of optical technologies developed in the laboratory.
Candidates with strong backgrounds in Engineering, Optics, Physics and other relevant disciplines are sought to join leading efforts in the development of new point-of-care optical diagnostics and microfluidics, laser speckle microrheology, birefringence microscopy, holographic microscopy and dynamic light scattering.
