Agape Health Systems (Part of Hope Health Systems, Inc) is the Family Primary Care unit providing a spectrum of primary care services to patients. We are looking for a highly motivated, organized individual with 6 months -2 years of medical office coordination/assistant, medical billing and payment posting experience to join our team. Under general direction, the Practice Reimbursement Specialist and Coordinator is responsible for the management of billing and coordination of one or more practice sites. The Practice Reimbursement Specialist and Coordinator assumes responsibility for ensuring the cost-effective delivery of quality patient care. The incumbent will remain abreast of financial and operational growth goals for the department/practice and strategizes for continued improvement in operating and financial performance. In conjunction with AGS and HHS leadership.

Principal Responsibilities and Tasks

Operations

  • Oversees and optimizes the utilization of practice management systems, applications and electronic records
  • Credentialing new Providers with Insurance companies
  • Audits, reviews and updates policies and procedures
  • Oversees the maintenance of required department records.
  • Assists in the collection of statistical data
  • Assures proper functioning of necessary equipment, including preventive maintenance and quality control.
  • Maintains certifications.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Billing

  • Data entry and review physicians/Providers claims in AdvancedMD billing system
  • Apply all coding rules and use of CPT and ICD codes and appropriate use of modifier
  • Interfaces with Revenue Cycle Team for billing and collections agency and oversees charging, coding and fee tickets/department/practice and plan for continued improvement in operating and financial performance.
  • Ensures complete and accurate claims.
  • Identify and report to management payer issues with regards to billing and collections.
  • Communicate with insurance companies and other parties to clarify billing issues and resolve payment issues
  • Assists in identifying areas for improvement, recommending solutions to management and developing policies and procedures

Office Coordination

  • Coordinates with internal and external departments regarding services offered to patients
  • Ensures appropriate referrals are made for patients
  • Manages employee performance for direct reports including:
  • Identifies and addresses performance and behavioral problems of staff
  • Recognizes and rewards performance.
  • Evaluates and identifies staff development needs and plans and implements training based on those needs.
  • Ensures staff is prioritizing work appropriately.

Qualifications

  • Two (2) years experience in one or all of the following: direct supervision of administrative and/or clinical staff; physician practice billing, coding, quality assurance and experience in relevant area for assigned department/care center/practice.
  • One (1) Year of physician billing experience
  • Medicare, Medicaid, and Managed Care billing experience
  • Detail oriented, problem solver/analytical, flexible, and self-motivated
  • Proficiency with Microsoft (Outlook, Office Word, and Excel)
  • Organized, ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Works well independently and in a team setting

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From $19.00 per hour
