The Pre-Registration Representative is responsible for providing estimates and collecting balances owed by patients prior to receiving services. They are also responsible for properly registering patients for their upcoming appointment.
Position Duties:
- Contacting and communicating with patients who have procedures scheduled
- Verifying that insurance information in the client system is accurate
- Determining the patient liability estimate
- Communicates hospital financial policies to all patients
- Updates the patient accounts on multiple client systems
Experience, Skills, & Abilities:
- One year of healthcare, registration, collections, billing, insurance related experience, or customer service
- One-year experience with Medicare, Medicaid, and other commercial payers (HMO, PPO)
- Epic EMR Systems
- Call Center Customer Service preferred
Education/Certifications:
- High School Diploma, GED required
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- CPAR, CHAA, or CFC Certifications preferred
