In 2018, Chelsea Piers Fitness brought its commitment to world-class fitness to Downtown Brooklyn with its first stand-alone fitness facility. With ambitious expansion plans, Chelsea Piers Fitness will be opening a second Brooklyn location in Prospect Heights.

Our Prospect Heights location is a brand-new facility featuring studio-quality fitness programming, recreational and competitive sports clubs, comprehensive personal training services, communal work and social spaces, artisanal food offerings and a year-round calendar of social and cultural events that reflect the ethos of the neighborhood we serve. Chelsea Piers Fitness is designed to inspire and reflect the creative needs of its members as they build toward achieving their fitness goals.

This is a unique opportunity to join our founding team at the newest Chelsea Piers Fitness location in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn.

Role & Responsibilities:

As an integral member of the founding team, the Membership Consultant will build the clubs high-quality membership base through an aggressive sales effort.

The Membership Consultant will be responsible for:

  • Adoption of relationship-based sales philosophy focused on information discovery
  • Prospecting, lead generation, and building of referral business
  • Sale of new memberships
  • Knowledge of all member opportunities within the club; connecting new members to areas of interest to set them up for success and long-term membership
  • Working cohesively with a team of Sales Account Managers and a Membership Director to be successful individually and as a team
  • Establishing a strong sales pipeline, meeting sales objectives and collaborating with a team to achieve the overall goals of the business
  • Managing select events geared towards engaging the membership base and/or generating interest in and excitement around the club
  • Serving as a visible and active goodwill ambassador with members and at select special events
  • Delivering superior customer service with an aim towards member retention

Qualifications:

  • A four-year degree from an accredited college or university, preferred
  • Analysis and understanding of key business metrics that directly impact membership growth
  • Self-motivated/entrepreneurial spirit with an outgoing, diligent and affable disposition
  • Superior customer service skills; excellent and clear communication skills, both verbal and written; strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Passion for fitness with a team-first mentality
  • Ability to work on nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • 1+ years of Membership Sales experience, preferably in a high-end fitness environment
