Pay Range = $22+

1.5x Pay over 8 hours and over 40
1.5x Pay Saturday and Sunday

We are seeking candidates for Press Assistants in our Salt Lake City Specialty facility for 2nd and 3rd shifts.
Responsibilities:
- Work as part of a team in support of a manufacturing operation with a goal of increasing productivity; decreasing downtime and waste and maintaining quality standards.
- Assume active role in overall plant and facilities-related work. Position requires assisting all jobs on the plant floor.
- Follow all company safety rules and lock-out tag-out procedures.
- Responsible for all activities associated with assisting in running the press including setup, operation, cleanup, and recommending improvements to operations.
- Maximize the utilization of equipment by operating the machinery at available capacity and speed.
- Assist Operator with job duties on the machine and takeover when necessary.
- Complete necessary reports in an accurate and timely manner, including but not limited to: Production Data, Machine Operational Status, Safety Data, Quality Data.
- Enter maintenance work orders in computer for needed repairs. Be proactive in the maintenance of equipment, and assist during preventative maintenance sessions.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeeping.
- Must be able to work overtime as needed.
Basic Qualifications:
- High school diploma/GED.
- Be passionate about maintaining a safe work environment.
- Able to pass pre-employment drug test and background check.
- Must be able to sit, stoop, and bend.
- Must be able to work overtime and weekends as needed.
- Must be able to work all shifts as the facility is a 24 hour operation.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- Must frequently lift die weighing up to 45 pounds.
- Ability to work in manufacturing environment, with varying temperatures based on season, around machinery, and forklift traffic.
- Good attendance and timeliness.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in a packaging or other manufacturing environment is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple requests simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently and within a team, effectively communicating with members.
- Must be willing to work closely on a day-to-day basis with other production personnel.
- Ability to share ideas with others to solve problems of essential importance.
- Thrive in a cross-functional team environment.
- Work with a sense of urgency to reduce downtime of machines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple requests simultaneously.
