ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for the setting the billet length, furnace temperature controls, and press speed for optimum production and quality
• Watches metal for quality issues, such as pick up, tear out and die lines
• Makes appropriate adjustments to operating set-up to try to correct issues
• Reports problems to supervisor and management to improve productivity and quality
• Regularly checks all equipment reporting and immediately reports any problems to supervisor
• Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers.

Ability to use measuring devices such as tape measures or rulers.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
