Utica Washers, a manufacturing company located in Detroit, is seeking a Press Operator. This position will be working directly with all members of the manufacturing team; Load/Unload and operate all equipment associated with parts tumbling lines. Perform all required material handling, including forklift operation. Monitor and maintain all equipment including effective performance of all operator-assigned maintenance activities.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Working directly with all members of the manufacturing team; Set-up and operate all stamping press lines while following all safety, quality and production standards at Utica Washers.

JOB FUNCTIONS:

Daily assignments may include, but will not be limited to:

• Safely and effectively perform the set-up and change-over of all stamping press lines including coil reels, coil straighteners, coil feeders, and stamping presses.
• Loading of coils onto coil reels using cranes and hoists.
• Stamp parts while following Manufacturing Work Instructions and die set-up instructions.
• Effectively monitor operation of all equipment and part quality.
• Accurate completion of all in-process tags associated with part production.
• Completion of all manufacturing required paperwork and computer logs.
• Monitoring of press production for quality assurance of products.
• Training and assistance of other operators as necessary.
• All other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager and/or Production Supervision.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Graduate or Equivalent
• Strong Mechanical Aptitude with experience using hand and power tools
• Ability to lift or carry objects weighing 40lbs
• Ability to work while standing, bending, lifting, and from platforms.

Additional Information:

• Monday through Thursday
• 1st Shift (6:00 am - 4:00 pm)
• Possible Overtime on Friday's as needed

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour depending on experience; paid weekly.
