Windham Northeast Supervisory Union invites qualified candidates to apply for the position of Principal of the Bellows Falls Union High School. WNESU seeks a Principal who will work in partnership with faculty, staff, students, parents, community members, Central Office administrators and the School Board to lead the Bellows Falls Union High School into the future. Bellows Falls Union High School serves students from Athens, Grafton, Rockingham and Westminster. Located in Westminster, our community is located just off I91; 20 minutes North of Brattleboro, VT, 20 minutes South of Springfield, VT, and 20 West of Keene, NH.
Windham Northeast Supervisory Union serves students PK-12 in 6 schools. Bellows Falls Union High School serves students in Grades 9-12. The current enrollment is 316 students.Mission Statement: The mission of Bellows Falls Union High School is to provide all students with the opportunity to expand their intellectual, social, and physical capabilities, to foster their emotional growth, and to assist them in recognizing and achieving their fullest potential. The new Principal of the Bellows Falls Union High School will join a talented team of professional and support staff including 67 teachers, specialists, and support staff dedicated to their students and to their own on-going professional development.
BFUHS is a NEASC accredited school. In addition to offering a variety of college preparatory courses in all areas including 7 Advanced Placement Courses and dual enrollment opportunities, students at Bellows Falls Union High School are able to access courses at two Career Centers; Windham Regional Career Center and River Valley Technical Center. Athletic participation is high, with many students participating in multiple sports.Major challenges and opportunities facing the new principal include addressing gaps in learning and socialization created by pandemic-induced disruptions; encouraging even higher levels of performance while addressing the needs of all students; establishing a sense of stability, continuity, and community; promoting greater consistency and collaboration among the districts middle schools; and keeping pace with technology while remaining focused on the core curriculum.
