We are a multi-format digital printing company that is adding a new Indigo card production department. This position will manage the start-up and daily management of this new card production department.

We are distributed across multiple offices with more than 500 employees, primarily in Calabasas (Southern California), San Diego, Woodridge (Chicago) and Pleasanton (Bay Area). We also have team members in two company-owned offices in China, as well as in Europe.

Job Overview

The Print Operations Manager will provide leadership that drives operational excellence, continual improvement, and teamwork throughout the business. The position will be responsible for, but not limited to, the below duties but could change based on evolution of technology and/or business itself.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the setup of new equipment, development of new workflows, processes/procedures for the card production/fulfillment process
  • Oversee team members to ensure policies & procedures are followed while meeting customer SLA deadlines
  • Ensure Quality Assurance expectations and Standard Operating Procedures are followed on a consistent basis and for every project
  • Solve problems including investigating production delays and difficulties, recommending alternative methods of manufacturing, and modifying staffing distribution, when necessary, based on workflow and demand
  • Implement new systems, procedures, policies and overseeing all aspects of the card production department
  • Coordinate with facility manager to ensure print area environment specifications are maintained (ex. air compressor, humidification system, HVAC, etc.)
  • Work with managers and staff to enforce procedures to ensure all Safety, Regulatory and Compliance measures are met within the facility
  • Support strategic planning, forecasting, and addressing of staffing needs
  • Manage professional development of team members including providing regular feedback and coaching, delivering formal performance appraisals, working collaboratively to address any issues or concerns, and supporting overall company rewards and recognition programs
  • Ensure new employees receive proper training to be a successful team member
  • Back up other operations managers when necessary
  • Oversee all timekeeping, PTO and OT for relevant team members
  • Maintain relationships with Customer Service and Operations team to provide a high level of customer satisfaction
  • Support extended 10 and 12-hour shifts, including weekend hours, during peak holiday periods

Requirements

  • 4+ years of production management experience
  • Experience in working in a fast paced, constantly evolving environment
  • HP Indigo printing, UV coating, rotary die-cutting and envelope printing experience is preferred
  • HP Level 1 -2 certified is a plus.
  • Experience in distribution, operations, warehousing, and inventory is a plus
