Job Description: Process Control Engineer

Responsible for implementation of control strategies and maintenance for both DCS and PLC, implementation and execution of capital projects, and management of process control communication networks.

Qualifications/Requirements: Process Control Engineer

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer, or Chemical Engineering field desired, however 3-5 years of equivalent work experience (in an industrial process or electrical field) can be suitable.
  • Ability to work effectively with all groups of people, including unionized workforce.
  • Have strong communication skills, (i.e., interpersonal, written and verbal)
  • Able to follow detailed procedures and follow the appropriate precautions.
  • Desired computer skills are Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Project,
  • Outlook), CMMS system, ControlLogix PLC systems, and Honeywell TDC3000.
  • Able to read and understand P& ID’s.
  • Self-directed and motivated to complete special projects
  • Able to multitask efficiently under demanding circumstances
  • Organized, attention to detail, and able to manage numerous documents.
  • Able to be a leader, mentor, and teacher to others.

Duties and Responsibilities: Process Control Engineer

  • Responsible for design, installation, system modifications and project management of electrical and control equipment.
  • Responsible for performing troubleshooting and failure analysis of the electrical and control equipment.
  • Oversee the reliability maintenance of DCS hardware and software including, but not limited to TDC3000, PLC-5000, CLX-5000, Delta-V, etc.This includes implementing, configuring, and troubleshooting these systems, application development, and field hardware.
  • Create and edit AutoCAD drawings as needed for systems, which include DCS, motors, and instrumentation.
  • Follow the appropriate management of the change system, including maintaining proper documentation of changes that are made in any of the control systems.
  • Apply expertise to design and implement changes to control systems in support of a rapidly evolving business and market needs, which includes directing, executing, commissioning, and starting up control systems elements of capital projects.DCS work will need to be completed correctly and in a timely manner.
  • Conduct proper follow-through on all DCS projects and repairs ensuring prints, parts, and job reviews are complete and acted upon.This can include creating procedures for tasks when necessary.
  • Drive continuous improvement in the control system infrastructure including project activity to renew and upgrade DCS platforms.This includes executing preventive maintenance work, according to Reliability Excellence initiatives
  • Provide technical support to improve operational efficiency, troubleshooting, and reduce costs. This does include working with different departments and technicians.
  • Lead prompt resolution of control system performance issues using critical thinking skills.
  • Assist wherever / whenever possible in areas that may increase safety and production, decrease downtime, and improving business efficiency within company and union guidelines.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
