JOB SUMMARY

The Product Designer will work alongside Sales, Engineering, and other departments within the organization. The Product Designer will conduct thorough market research to determine market gaps, use rough sketches and design software to create concepts, 3D models, and detailed drawings.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Use 3D modeling software for detailed designs and drawings (Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, Lumion)
  • Creates prototypes, layouts and models for product components, or a manufacturing process using CAE tools.
  • Produce protypes to test form, fit, and function.
  • Performs analysis to find flaws or inefficiencies in designs and to model solutions.
  • Employs CAE tools to enable benchmarking, concept design, prototype development, simulation, and testing protocols.
  • Identify tools, equipment, materials, and design techniques.
  • Engage stakeholders using sketches, prints, 3D models, and renders while gathering feedback.
  • Collaborate with the sales, engineering and production teams while accepting and providing feedback.
  • Conducting market research to determine gaps in the market.
  • Translate research into feasible ideas and designs that will satisfy the market.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Design or related field, or equivalent work experience, required.
  • 3-5 years of experience in product design or similar role.
  • CNC and/or plastics manufacturing experience preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs
