If you have:

  • Understanding of geometric tolerancing and terms.
  • Excellent spacial perception (ability to visualize in three dimensions)
  • Excellent mechanical skills
  • Engineering Technical degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Self-motivated, willing to accept responsibility, and follow through
  • Ability to manage projects
  • Working experience with AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks
  • Must have a good working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong understanding of machine capability, statistics, and variation

A typical day may look like this
:

  • Work with manufacturing departments to define and improve processes used.
  • Develop operations sheets to define how parts will be manufactured.
  • Standardize processes and blueprints where possible.
  • Initiate and complete opportunities to streamline operations.
  • Work directly with customers to insure understanding of their needs.
  • Assist Customer Service to insure understanding of customer needs and USTG processes
  • Effectively communicate customer needs to the manufacturing departments.
  • Develop exceptional cutting tool knowledge.
  • Use cutting tool knowledge to understand performance issues related to cutting tool geometry.
  • Create cutting tool and manufactured item drawings as needed.
  • Assist in evaluating tools as needed.
  • Using understanding of machine capabilities to determine appropriate tolerancing.
  • Quoting Manufacturing of new tools and reconditioning of customer owned tools
