Job Description
ENSCO Avionics, Inc. has an exciting opportunity for a Product Safety Engineer specializing in Avionic and Hybrid power and control systems. Position will focus on the human factors element for product safety for mechanical systems such as Hybrid vehicle and test environment systems. Familiarity of standards such as ISO26262, MIL-STD-1472, and MIL-STD-882 are required for the position. The position is full life cycle for the products with tasks including presentations for design reviews, system test plans, test readiness reviews, and safety analysis reviews. Candidate will work with internal engineering, suppliers, and end customers to drive quality safety solutions throughout the project cycle. Post production support will include failure investigations, corrective action reports, and preventative analysis for future designs. Designs, documents, and artifacts are controlled within CMMI processes and controlled in environments such as Windchill and DOORS.
Qualifications Required (Skills)

  • BS or equiv; min 3 yrs relevant exp
  • Experience with safety standards such as ISO26262 and MIL-STD-1472
  • Experience generating system safety plans, tests, and procedures
  • Experience working with Engineering and external supplier teams
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including working in team environments
  • Excellent verbal communication skills - must be able to communicate effectively in teleconferences with suppliers, clients and colleagues
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

Qualifications Desired

  • Experience with CM systems such as Windchill and DOORS
  • Experience with automotive components
  • Experience with Hybrid Power systems
