Carter Machinery Company, the authorized Caterpillar dealer serving Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and Washington D.C. is hiring a Product Support Specialist in Richmond, Virginia. The Product Support Specialist is responsible for providing technical counsel to internal resources in order to develop proposals and negotiate contracts for new business opportunities. Additional responsibilities include developing new business opportunities that increase equipment, parts and service sales through direct face-to-face contact. Seeking candidates with a minimum of ten years technical experience in the Electric Power Generation field, specifically the Switchgear/Transfer Switch/UPS business segments. A minimum of one year sales experience, preferred.

Requirements for the Product Support Specialist include:

• Strong mechanical, technical, and electrical aptitude required.
• Must be able to multi-task while maintaining organized and detailed documentation of all conversations.
• Must have a strong sense of urgency and a desire to exceed customer expectations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills required.

• Clean driving record and a valid driver's license required.
• Frequent travel is required – overnight or out town via car or airplane.
• Must be able to handle large volumes of work in a fast-paced environment.

Physical requirements must be met for the Product Support Specialist job, including the ability to talk and/or hear.
