Production Supervisor Job at Artech Infosystems Private Limited
As a variable shift Supervisor – Melt/Pouring Operations located in Waterloo, IA, you will schedule iron flow from charge material to liquid metal while supervising a team of individuals. In addition, you will:
- Perform ductile and gray iron recipe and chemistry calculations
- Manage the iron flow from melting iron in coreless furnaces, holding iron in induction furnaces and then pouring into molds via vertical channel pouring furnaces or pouring cars
- Execute strategic department initiatives, weekly schedules, and daily plans
- Manage employees and keep them accountable for their actions regarding Safety, Quality, Delivery and Efficiency
Required Skill:
- Excellent communicator, who thrives on solving problems and working in a team environment
- Experience with, or supporting, shop floor manufacturing and/or warehouse operation
- Demonstrated team leadership skills
- Experience communicating across functions (such as: supply management, engineering, operations, and human resources)
- Ability and flexibility to work across variable shifts based on production needs
Preferred Skill:
- Experience with continuous improvement pay plans (CIPP)
- Experience with wage/union employee policies, practices, procedures, and work rules
- Experience in leadership or supervision of a union workforce
- Working knowledge of the CI continual improvement process and 5S
- 3 or more years of experience in a coreless melt furnace, preferably with medium frequency furnaces
- Experience in induction furnaces
- Experience with refractory related practices in an iron foundry
- Chemistry control experience in a gray and ductile iron foundry
Education
Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
- Bachelor's degree in Metal Casting, Business, or similar discipline,_ or _four or more years’ relevant work experience
